ABOUT US

The Area History Center and Museum building was formerly the Notre Dame Convent built in 1883. 

The Chippewa County Historical and Genealogical Societies moved into their historic home in 1990. 

The Chippewa County Genealogical Society, organized in 1980, is a nonprofit organization comprised of over 175 members from Chippewa County (WI), the entire United States and several foreign countries.

The mission of the Chippewa County Genealogical Society is to provide education and assistance to those who are tracing their family roots; to collect and maintain genealogical and historical materials; and to provide access to all materials and educational programs for members and the general public.
