THE LIBRARY

The Chippewa County Genealogical Society Library is located in the Chippewa Area History Center, 12 Bridgewater Avenue, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.

 

The Area History Center is open to the public on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our telephone number is 715-723-4399.

 

Library materials include:

  • area and family histories

  • books and newspapers

  • cemetery index 

  • census records

  • church records

  • city directories

  • ethnic research guides

  • index of naturalizations

  • marriage records

  • probate records

  • state and county maps

  • indexed obituaries


A photocopy machine, microfiche readers and a microfilm reader with one printer are available for use.

RESEARCH POLICY

​The Chippewa County Genealogical Society provides fee-based genealogical research services for members and non-members alike using the following research policies:

 

  • The Society provides a preferential research fee schedule for its members as a benefit of membership. Currently fees are $12.00 per hour for members and $15 per hour for non-members.
     

  • Copies of documents will be priced in accordance with the CCGS copy fee schedule in effect at the time of the research request. Single pages are starting at 25 cents and up to $1.00 depending on sheet size and membership.

 

  • Postage and handling of the final report will be included in the final expense invoice for research services and will be paid by the research requestor.
     

  • The final report including copies will not be mailed or released until the invoice for genealogical services, copies and postage is fully paid.
